Health department building in Butler County destroyed by fire

On Sunday morning, a fire broke out at the building housing the Butler County Health Department and EMA office in Greenville, Alabama. The fire started at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Airport Road in Greenville. When crews arrived on the scene, they found that the building was completely engulfed in flames. Despite their efforts to put out the fire, it was ultimately declared a total loss.

Luckily, no one was inside the building when the fire started, and there were no reported injuries. However, the cause of the fire is still under investigation, though authorities have ruled out arson as a possible cause.

In response to the fire, the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) is currently working to secure a temporary location to provide health services to residents of Butler County.
