Bungee Jumping and Beyond: A Reflection on an Unforgettable Journey from Queenstown to Croatia

Semenuk and Meeke left in awe by the rally featuring the ‘best roads in the world’ – DirtFish

As I make my way back from Queenstown to Dunedin, I take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey I’ve had so far. One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Kawarau Bridge, where bungee jumping first began. It’s a cliché, but it’s an experience that must be done at least once in a lifetime.

It’s amazing to think that it all started with A.J. Hackett and his friends taking the leap of faith off the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Their bravery and adventurous spirit paved the way for bungee jumping as we know it today. The thrill of taking that first jump into a 50-meter gorge is something I can only imagine, but I admire Hackett’s ethos of getting out there and giving it a go.

As my time in New Zealand comes to an end, I can’t help but feel a sense of sadness about leaving this beautiful country behind. But as they say, every ending is just another beginning. That’s why I’m excited to head to Croatia for the spring season.

I heard about an amazing rally put together by Oakley boys with 16 single-use stages running smoothly on time. Brandon and Kris were such great hosts, and I hope they’ll do it again next year too!

If you’re interested in experiencing the thrill of Otago in one of Juddy’s Impreza H6s, don’t hesitate to reach out! It will cost around £5,000 to hire the car plus additional expenses for tires, fuel, entry fees, flights, and accommodation. But trust me; the experience of driving 170 miles through a stunning part of the world with Speights, Steinlager and Super Rugby at your fingertips is truly priceless!
