Building a Behemoth: The Bengals’ Offensive Line Trend of Large Tackles Continues with Amarius Mims

Amarius Mims stands out among offensive linemen at Bengals practice

The Cincinnati Bengals have been making headlines for their massive offensive line, with the addition of Trent Brown and Orlando Brown Jr. during free agency. The team then solidified their line with the selection of Amarius Mims at No. 18 in the draft, further emphasizing their preference for large tackles.

Mims, standing at 6’8″ and weighing 340 pounds, adds to the Bengals’ trend of having big tackles on their line. As a rookie, learning from veterans with similar body types but playing on different sides could greatly benefit his development as a player. The towering presence of Mims over his more experienced teammates is quite a sight, as seen in images shared by Bengals radio announcer Dan Hoard.

While players like D’Ante Smith and Cody Ford are also sizeable individuals, Mims’ sheer size makes him stand out even more. Towards the end of practice, Mims and fellow rookie Matt Lee received extra attention from offensive line coach Frank Pollack. It is clear that the Bengals are building a formidable offensive line with a focus on size and strength.
