Brittney Griner Returns to Phoenix Mercury: Team Set for Success with Ideal Starting Lineup

Brittney Griner set to make season debut against Lynx on Friday

Brittney Griner’s return to the Phoenix Mercury is set to significantly strengthen the team. This season, the team has been struggling due to a fractured toe that delayed her start. However, with Griner finally making her debut in the upcoming game against the Minnesota Lynx, Phoenix will have its ideal starting lineup with both Griner and guard Bec Allen back on the court.

Last season, Griner made an impressive comeback after her release from prison in Russia. She averaged 17.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game. Despite facing numerous challenges, the Mercury managed to improve their record to 4-6 this year without Griner on the court. Similarly, guard Bec Allen also missed a few games due to a concussion last season.

Griner’s return comes at a crucial time for the Mercury as they face a challenging opponent in the Minnesota Lynx who are currently leading the Western Conference with a 7-2 record. With Griner’s presence on the court, Phoenix is poised to perform better and push towards a successful season.

Overall, Brittney Griner’s return is expected to boost Phoenix’s chances of success this season as they continue their quest for dominance in the Western Conference.
