Bringing Healthcare to Athens: Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities Launches Mobile Unit

Free Health Screenings for Children in Athens Provided by Ronald McDonald House Charities

The Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities is bringing their Care Mobile to Athens on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 to provide free health screenings and sports physicals for children. The mobile unit aims to make medical treatment more accessible for children in the community by offering ear, eye, dental screenings, asthma care, and sports physicals. While appointments are recommended, walk-ups are also welcome.

According to Alyssa Scherb, Director of Impact and Stewardship with the nonprofit organization, children aged three to 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with a valid ID in order to receive care. For more information or to schedule an appointment, individuals can visit ARMHC.org or call 404-226-0012 or 404-219-7541. The organization also accepts donations of money, clothes, hygiene kits, and snacks for families in need.

This initiative aims to support the health and wellness of children in the Athens community by providing necessary services and resources to ensure their well-being. By making medical treatment more accessible for children in the community, the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities is helping to improve the overall health of the Athens community.
