Legacy Health and Regence BlueCross BlueShield have reached a new agreement, ensuring that patients can continue to see their providers and receive services at Legacy hospitals without interruption. The previous contract between the two healthcare providers expired at the end of Sunday, but negotiations for a new contract had been ongoing since November of the previous year. This agreement means that Legacy providers and facilities will remain in-network for Regence and other BlueCross BlueShield members, according to Merrin Permut, the vice president and chief population health officer.
Legacy Health patients insured by Regence BlueCross BlueShield were at risk of losing coverage for the healthcare system starting Monday. However, with this new agreement in place, patients can continue to see their providers and receive services at Legacy hospitals without disruption. Legacy Health expresses gratitude for the support and understanding of patients and communities during the negotiation process, as well as the commitment of caregivers in providing care.
There will be no disruption in care for patients, and those with scheduled appointments are encouraged to keep their appointments as planned. For those who had previously canceled appointments due to uncertainty about the negotiations, Legacy Health advises contacting them to reschedule. Regence BlueCross BlueShield spokesperson expressed appreciation for the patience of members during the negotiation process and stated that they are pleased Legacy Health will remain in-network for Regence members.
Both Legacy Health and Regence BlueCross BlueShield are looking forward to continuing their partnership to ensure that members have access to necessary care in the community. The new agreement marks a positive outcome for patients insured by Regence who rely on Legacy Health for their healthcare needs.
