Breaking the Stigma: WFPK Mental Health Day Celebrates Resource, Empathy and Change in the Community

Mental Health Day is just around the corner, and CCLOU is proud to sponsor the event. Taking place on Wednesday, July 3rd, this All Request Mental Health Day will provide resources for individuals, families, and friends in need.

One of the most critical resources available is the National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. This lifeline can be reached by calling or texting 9-8-8. Additionally, Louisville Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available by texting LOU to 741741.

Seven Counties Services Adult Crisis Line at 502-589-5313 and Seven Counties Services Child Crisis Line at 502-589-8070 are also essential resources for those in need of immediate assistance. The Kentucky chapter of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Lou are also valuable tools for those looking for support during challenging times.

It’s crucial to remember that mental health issues affect everyone differently. One important aspect of mental health is feeling heard and understood. Those with privilege must do their research and find ways to support Black people and people of color to combat systemic racism that can negatively impact mental health outcomes.
