Audrey MacLean, a former standout at Redwood High in Tiburon, recently placed fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the USA Track & Field under-20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon. As a freshman running for Middlebury College, MacLean finished with a time of 10 minutes and 36.95 seconds, marking her fourth consecutive race finishing in under 10:40. Her outstanding performances throughout the season earned her the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Rookie of the Year honors in both track and cross country.
During her time at Redwood, MacLean was a top distance runner in the county, finishing second in the 1,600 and 3,200 during her senior season in 2023. She also won the MCAL cross country title as a junior and finished second as a senior. Notably, MacLean placed sixth in the 2023 Dipsea Race.
In baseball news, the San Rafael Pacifics kicked off their homestand with three consecutive victories over the Dublin Leprechauns on Friday night and then secured an 11-6 victory on Saturday. The Pacifics had a record of 15-4 after two games and amassed 12 hits, drew ten walks and took advantage of three errors to score twenty runs.
