Breaking the Barrier: Wisconsin Badgers Football’s Successful Recruiting Campaign Lands them in Top 20 Despite Big Ten Competition

On3 ranks Wisconsin football’s class of 2025 in top-20

Over the past few weeks, the Wisconsin Badgers football team has been making waves in the college football world due to their impressive recruiting efforts for the class of 2025. Despite being ranked at No. 20 overall in the latest On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, five Big Ten programs – Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Michigan, and Rutgers – were ranked above them. However, this influx of talent has propelled the Badgers to new heights.

Under head coach Luke Fickell, Wisconsin has secured 21 verbal commitments for their upcoming season. This includes preferred walk-on specialist Erik Schmidt. The team is determined to continue making strides towards becoming a playoff contender in college football. With Fickell’s leadership entering his second year at the helm of the program, they are eager to see how this new group of recruits can help them achieve their goals.

In addition to their impressive class of 2025, Wisconsin also had a successful class of 2024 with 10 early enrollees already on campus and three-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer among them. Their class was ranked as the 23rd best in the country by 247Sports. With their current class of 2025 ranked at No. 14 by On3 Industries, it’s clear that Wisconsin is continuing its success in recruiting top talent and building a strong program for years to come.
