Narendra Modi praises Team India for winning T20 World Cup in meeting

The Indian cricket team recently won the T20 World Cup and celebrated their victory in a memorable way. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the winning team at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg (LKM), to congratulate them on their achievement.

The team, led by Rohit Sharma, had defeated South Africa to clinch the title after facing delays due to a hurricane in Bridgetown, Barbados. After their triumph, they finally arrived in Delhi where they were greeted by the Prime Minister who expressed his happiness and congratulated them for their hard work and dedication.

In the meeting, Modi engaged in a conversation with the players, discussing their journey throughout the tournament. He shared his experience on social media and called it a memorable meeting with the World Cup-winning team. A video released by the Prime Minister’s Office showed the players in a relaxed discussion with Modi, with Rohit Sharma seated next to him and head coach Rahul Dravid on the other side. The players were dressed in special ‘CHAMPIONS’ jerseys with two stars, representing their two T20 World Cup victories. The atmosphere was jovial, with players visibly pleased to interact with the Prime Minister.

During the meeting, BCCI president Roger Binny and secretary Jay Shah presented Prime Minister Modi with a customized Team India jersey that featured ‘NAMO’ and the number ‘1’ as a gesture of appreciation and respect towards the Prime Minister for his support towards Indian cricket.
