Breaking Barriers: The City of Kyle Hosts Its Second Annual Gathering of Kyles and Invites All with the Name Kyle to Make History

‘Kyle Convention’ seeks to break Guinness World Record in final push

The city of Kyle, Texas is hosting its second annual Gathering of Kyles in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest same-name gathering. The event will take place at Lake Kyle Park at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and organizers are encouraging all individuals with the legal first name Kyle, with the exact spelling, to attend and help break the record.

The first gathering took place at the Kyle Fair in 2023 and drew 1,490 people with the name Kyle, falling short of the record set by 2,325 Ivans in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2017. This year, the city is making a last-minute push for people named Kyle to attend and help make history. They are urging everyone to “make every Kyle count” and are hopeful that with enough participants, they can achieve the record-breaking gathering.

To participate in the event, individuals must present ID to prove their name and register by 12:30 p.m. on the day of the attempt. The city is excited to see how many people named Kyle will come together to celebrate their shared identity and break a world record.
