Breaking Barriers: Islamic Center Hosts Health and Wellness Fair for Underserved Communities

Health Fair Hosted by Albuquerque Islamic Center

On Saturday, an Islamic center in Albuquerque hosted a health and wellness fair, offering free health resources to various communities. The fair was aimed at reaching underserved populations like refugees and immigrants who may have limited access to healthcare services. Services provided included blood glucose testing, blood screenings, and opportunities for blood donation.

The goal of the event was to make these resources more accessible to those who may not know where to find them. Dua Hussain from the organizing committee expressed the importance of this effort: “By attending this fair, people can learn about the available resources and what they may need for their health.” The fair was designed to provide vital information in an easily accessible way for the public.

The Islamic Center hopes to host more health and wellness fairs in the future as part of their ongoing efforts to support the community’s overall well-being.
