Breaking: Aurora Police Respond to Mental Health Emergency at Hotel, Guests Instructed to Stay in Rooms

Lockdown at Aurora Hotel in Chicago Suburb due to Mental Health Concerns

Aurora police were called to a hotel in the west suburbs on Friday morning due to a “mental health issue.” The incident took place at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Aurora – Naperville, located at 111 N. Broadway Ave. Several police vehicles were seen in the hotel parking lot, with at least one officer carrying a riot shield and assault rifle.

As a result of the police response, guests staying at the hotel were instructed to remain in their rooms. The situation was later resolved peacefully by 11 a.m., with no guns fired during the incident. Todd Feurer, a web producer for CBS Chicago, reported on the incident and provided cell phone footage of the police vehicles in the hotel parking lot.
