Boston’s TD Garden businesses gearing up for a bustling sports weekend

Boston is bracing for a busy weekend as both the Bruins and Celtics kick off their playoff runs. The Bruins will begin their NHL playoffs on Saturday, while the Celtics start in the NBA playoffs on Sunday.

Boston is known for its love of sports, with fans fully immersed in the playoff excitement. Bars in the area are gearing up to ensure that fans are well-fed and hydrated throughout the weekend. Nick Moniz, the general manager of Banners Kitchen and Tap, estimates that they will go through around 200-250 kegs and serve at least 1,000 orders of chicken wings. Anticipation is high as they prepare to welcome fans throughout the weekend.

Halftime Pizza, located across from the Garden, is also expecting large crowds, especially after the games conclude. While they couldn’t provide an exact estimate of the number of pizzas they’ll sell, they anticipate it will be more than 100. With so much excitement surrounding the playoffs, businesses are ready to open their doors and welcome fans.

The city has announced that it will be closing Canal Street to traffic before and during home playoff games as part of a pedestrian zone across from the Garden called Playoff Hub. This space will provide a safe space for fans to come together, cheer on their favorite teams, and support local businesses. The city is thrilled to offer this opportunity to Boston fans and create a vibrant playoff atmosphere.
