The Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum was the only player from the team to be selected to the 2023-24 All-NBA teams, which were announced before Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. This marks the third consecutive year that Tatum has been named to the First Team, making him the first Celtics player to achieve this since Larry Bird.
Tatum had a standout season, averaging 26.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and a career-best 4.9 assists per game. He shot an impressive 47.1 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from 3-point range. Meanwhile, his teammate Jaylen Brown narrowly missed out on being voted onto the All-NBA Third Team. Brown received 50 voting points, just two less than the lowest vote-getter on the third team, Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns.
Brown’s outstanding performance was also key to helping the Celtics achieve their best record in league history at 64-18. With seven wins away from potentially securing their first championship since 2008, after defeating Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of Eastern Conference Finals, The duo’s impressive performances have put them in good standing as they continue their quest for NBA glory.
