Boeing Faces Quality Control and Leadership Changes Amidst Heightened Scrutiny.

Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun to retire at the end of 2024.

Boeing is facing heightened scrutiny and quality control issues, leading to the departure of three top executives. Dave Calhoun, who has served as CEO since 2020, will depart at the end of 2024. Larry Kellner, the board chair, will not stand for re-election at the upcoming shareholder meeting. Additionally, head of commercial airplanes Stan Deal will retire effective Monday.

Calhoun was known for his operational skills and crisis management abilities. However, an incident involving an Alaska Airlines jet on January 5th brought to light issues with Boeing’s manufacturing and quality control processes. As a result, new leadership is needed to address these issues.

As this is a developing story, updates on the situation will be provided as more information becomes available.
