BMW Group Partners with Rimac Technology to Establish Advanced EV Battery Production Lines in Croatia.

Rimac Technology chosen to supply high-voltage battery units to BMW

BMW Group has announced a long-term partnership with Croatian provider of electric vehicle (EV) technology solutions, Rimac Technology. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for the company, as it represents the largest and most ambitious project they have undertaken to-date.

Rimac Technology will establish sophisticated automated production lines for batteries at the Rimac Campus near Zagreb, the Croatian capital, to support this partnership. A substantial portion of the campus will be dedicated to this project, demonstrating the company’s commitment to working with BMW Group.

According to a press release from Rimac Technology, this strategic partnership is expected to bring together the strengths and expertise of both companies in a productive way. BMW Group brings expertise in battery and electric drive systems acquired over more than 15 years, while Rimac Technology brings its expertise in engineering, development, production, and supply of battery systems and electric drive units.

The Rimac Group is led by CEO Mate Rimac and is the majority shareholder of Bugatti Rimac, which manufactures the Bugatti Chiron. The sole stakeholder of Rimac Technology is also part of the group. With this new division focused on advancing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) technology within Europe through designing, developing, and manufacturing innovative stationary BESS solutions
