Bluejay Baylor Scheierman: A Well-Rounded Addition to the Boston Celtics in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Baylor Scheierman chosen by C’s as Round 1 pick in NBA Draft

In the 2024 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics made their first-round selection by picking wing player Baylor Scheierman from Creighton with the 30th overall pick. The decision to draft Scheierman was made under the leadership of President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens, who has expressed his excitement about adding such a talented player to the team.

Standing at 6-foot-7, Scheierman had an impressive college career with the Bluejays. In his last season, he averaged 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game while shooting 44.8 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from beyond the arc. He is also known for his shooting abilities and versatility on the court, making him a valuable addition to the Celtics’ bench.

One standout statistic for Scheierman is that he is the only player in Division I men’s history to have accumulated over 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 500 assists, and 300 three-pointers during his collegiate career. This showcases his skill across different aspects of the game and makes him a well-rounded player who can contribute effectively on the court.

Prior to joining Creighton in 2022, Scheierman spent his initial three years at South Dakota State before deciding to transfer to further develop his game. His decision to play for Creighton paid off as he was able to hone his skills and become one of the most sought-after prospects in the draft class of 2024.

The continuation of the 2024 NBA Draft is set to commence on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET with both picks still available for use by President Stevens’ team management team. With both picks now secured by Boston Celtics they are looking forward towards building a competitive roster that can be successful in future seasons
