During his speech at the graduation ceremony of the US Military Academy in West Point, President Joe Biden reaffirmed his stance on not sending American soldiers to the war in Ukraine. He emphasized that there are no American soldiers involved in the conflict and he is committed to keeping it that way. Despite this, he reiterated the United States’ support for Ukraine against the ongoing Russian invasion.
Biden assured the graduating cadets that the US would not abandon Ukraine and described US soldiers as tireless workers in supporting Kiev’s efforts to repel the Russian invasion. He emphasized that the US stands firm with Ukraine and will continue to support them.
Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky requested military aid from Western countries, including the USA, France, and the UK, to help Ukraine attack infrastructure in Russia used by the Russian Army to target Ukrainian territory.
President Biden also highlighted the importance of US support for its allies around the world, including Israel and the Indo-Pacific region. He mentioned neutralizing Iranian attacks against Israel and supporting allies in face of China’s growing militarism in the Indo-Pacific as crucial values for America’s foreign policy.
