Biden Re-election Concerns Within Democratic Party: Morning Consult Survey Shows Majority Say He Should Be Replaced As Primary Candidate

Survey Shows 60% of Americans Want Biden to Withdraw His Candidacy

A recent Morning Consult survey published on the Axios news site has brought to light growing concerns within the Democratic Party about incumbent President Joe Biden’s candidacy for re-election. Following his confrontation with former President Donald Trump, 60% of eligible voters believe that Biden should be replaced as the Democratic Party’s primary candidate.

The survey, which had 2,068 respondents, reflects reactions from Democratic officials regarding the possibility of replacing Biden as the party’s presidential candidate. Among Democrats, 21% believe that Biden should definitely not be replaced and 20% say probably not. When asked to choose between Biden and Trump, 45% chose Biden and 44% chose Trump.

These results were similar to those following Trump’s criminal conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records. However, it is worth noting that a majority of respondents felt that Trump outperformed Biden in the confrontation. Despite this, Biden’s campaign spokesman emphasized that Biden is not retiring and remains committed to running for president again.

Overall, the survey results highlight the growing concerns within the Democratic Party about Biden’s candidacy and his performance following his confrontation with Trump. Voters are divided on whether he should be replaced and how his performance compares to that of Trump.
