Benjamin O. Davis Middle School in Compton, California is celebrating a prestigious honor as the school has been named a top 10 finalist in the World’s Best School Prizes 2024 in the innovation category. The school, part of the Compton Unified School District, is the only one from the United States to be recognized in this category.
The school stands out for its use of project-based learning to teach students, taking their education to the next level by encouraging innovation and sustainability. The school encourages students to come up with ideas and then works to make those ideas a reality through collaboration between teachers and students. The winners of the World’s Best School Prizes 2024 will be selected by an expert panel, but the public also has the opportunity to vote for their favorite school on the organization’s website.
