Veteran combat sports and professional wrestling broadcaster Jimmy Smith is returning to Bellator as a commentator. The 46-year-old will be back in the booth for Bellator Champions Series: Dublin on June 22. It has been confirmed by promotion officials that Smith will only be calling Bellator cards, not PFL-branded events.
Smith previously worked for Bellator from just after the promotion’s second season in 2010 until his departure in December 2017. He then signed a one-year deal with the UFC in January 2018, but his contract was not renewed in January 2019. Smith then took on commentary duties for Invicta FC before working as a play-by-play commentator for WWE’s Monday Night Raw from May 2021 to October 2022. He was also the host of SiriusXM Fight Nation from September 2020 until mid-May 2024.
This return to Bellator marks a full circle moment for Smith in his broadcasting career.
