Bellarmine University’s Langdon Hatton and Billy Smith Recognized for Academic Excellence on the Court and in the Classroom

Hatton and Smith Selected for College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team

Two Bellarmine University student-athletes, Langdon Hatton and Billy Smith, have been recognized for their excellence both on the court and in the classroom. The 2023-24 College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team has named them as members.

Langdon Hatton, a junior data science major, had an impressive season with averages of 10.5 points and 7.1 rebounds. He also achieved five double-doubles during the season, including a standout performance against Kennesaw State where he scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. This is not Hatton’s first academic honor as he was also named to the 2024 Academic All-ASUN Team.

Billy Smith, a sophomore psychology major, had a solid debut season after transferring from Miami (OH). He averaged 5.8 points per game and shot 34.6 percent from three-point range. His season-high was a 17-point game against Berea on December 7th. Both Hatton and Smith met the requirements for consideration for the CSC Academic All-District Team, which include maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5 and appearing in a certain percentage of games.
