Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder: Wild Thang Takes Home the Title of ‘World’s Ugliest Dog’

Introducing Wild Thang: The Notoriously Ugly Dog in the World

Wild Thang, a unique-looking pooch, stole the limelight at the annual World’s Ugliest Dog Contest in Petaluma, California. Competing for the fifth time, Wild Thang finally claimed the title of ‘world’s ugliest dog’ after winning over judges and contestants alike with his lovable personality and one-of-a-kind appearance.

Judge Fiona Ma praised Wild Thang’s victory, saying that it was well-deserved and touched many hearts. The contest, held on June 21st, 2024, aimed to raise awareness about the importance of rescuing and adopting animals in need.

Wild Thang and his owner Ann Lewis received $5000 as a prize for their achievement. The pair will make an appearance on NBC’s The Today Show to share their story with the world. In second place was Rome, a wheelchair-bound pug, with Daisy May taking home the bronze medal for her mixed breed rescue.

Despite being unconventional looking dogs, Wild Thang and Rome’s wins remind us that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder and every animal deserves love and a forever home. The World’s Ugliest Dog Contest serves as a reminder to embrace diversity and celebrate each animal’s uniqueness.
