Bearded Achievements: National Beard and Mustache Championships Set Three Guinness World Records in Florida

Witness: Beard and Mustache Championships sets new world records for three facial hair categories

The annual National Beard and Mustache Championships, organized by Beard Team USA, set three new Guinness World Records this year in Florida. Held on the Main Street Pier in Daytona Beach, participants broke the previous record for the longest beard chain with an 86-person chain measuring 195 feet and 3 inches long. In addition, they also set a new record for the longest mustache chain with 27 participants achieving a length of 20 feet and 4 inches. Finally, a record for the longest partial beard chain was set by 24 participants with styles such as mutton chops, goatees, and musketeer-style facial hair, measuring 42 feet and 8 inches.

Bryan Nelson, the creative director for Beard Team USA, commented on the event saying that creating a beard chain is already wacky in itself but going through the process of measuring, documenting and certifying the record titles with Guinness World Records makes it even more extraordinary. This unique and entertaining display of creativity and dedication from facial hair enthusiasts was a huge success.
