BBC World Service Heads to the USA for In-Depth Political Debate on Pressing Issues

Michigan to host BBC World Questions event

The BBC World Questions is heading to the USA on Tuesday 4 June, where a panel of leading politicians and opinion formers will discuss the country’s most pressing political, economic, and social issues. The program, which places people and their questions at the forefront, will be hosted by BBC presenter Anu Anand.

The live recording will take place at the Lansing Center on 33 E Michigan Ave in Michigan. Kaitlyn Buss from The Detroit News, Democrat State Senator Sarah Anthony, Republican State Senator John Damoose, Professor Matt Grossmann from Michigan State University, and Jennifer Root, the Executive Director of SEIU union in Michigan are among the panelists for the event.

BBC World Service English’s Commissioning Editor, Gwenan Roberts expressed excitement for the upcoming conversations in Michigan. According to her this is an opportunity for local communities to engage with leaders and have their voices heard on an international platform.

The topics up for debate include inflation, jobs, immigration, the right to protest and upcoming election.
