Bayern Munich is thrilled to announce that Josip Stanišić has signed a new five-year contract with the club. The defender, who spent the previous season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, has decided to remain in Bavaria despite his successful loan spell.
Stanišić joined Bayern’s academy in 2017 and has since made 41 appearances for the first team, scoring one goal. Although he was born in Germany, Stanišić represents Croatia at the international level and was part of the squad that was eliminated from EURO 2024 at the group stage by Italy.
With this decision, Stanišić will be an integral part of Vincent Kompany’s squad for the upcoming season, under Kompany’s first season in charge at the Allianz Arena. This news is a boost to Bayern as they continue to strengthen their defense ahead of their next campaign.
