Michelle Obama has consistently denied any interest in running for office since leaving the White House, and her daughters Sasha and Malia are not likely to follow in their mother’s footsteps. At a recent fundraiser for President Joe Biden, former president Barack Obama shared that his daughters were focused on pursuing careers outside of politics.
Michelle made sure that her daughters stayed away from politics, and her elder daughter, Malia, is focusing on a career in screenwriting and directing. She recently premiered a short film at the Sundance Film Festival and has previously interned on Lena Dunham’s show and the Weinstein Company, as well as worked on the production of Halle Berry’s TV series. Malia also wrote for a show produced by Donald Glover.
On the other hand, Sasha Obama graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in sociology in 2023. Despite their parents’ success and popularity, both Michelle and Barack are focused on their daughters pursuing their own paths and staying clear of politics. In an interview with Oprah, Michelle stated that she never expressed interest in politics and only supported her husband’s decision to run.
