Bangladesh’s Cricket Board Selects Tanzim Sakib for Zimbabwe Series Over Saifuddin in Close Call

Tanzim Hasan Sakib has been chosen over Saifuddin for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) squad for the upcoming Zimbabwe series. Gazi Ashraf Hossain, Chairman of the National Selection Panel of the BCB, explained that the decision regarding Saifuddin was delayed until after the Zimbabwe series because the selectors wanted to assess his performance during the series. However, upon considering the team’s current needs, Tanzim was chosen over Saifuddin. The decision between the two players was a close one, with Tanzim impressing the selectors with his dedication, hunger, and fielding skills.

Regarding senior pacer Taskin Ahmed, Hossain stated that despite injury concerns, he was selected for the T20 World Cup squad. The medical team assured that Taskin would recover in time for the tournament, and the ICC’s policy on replacements would be followed if necessary. However, it is unlikely that Taskin will be able to participate in the upcoming series against USA due to injury concerns.
