Baker Hughes Threat Forces Claremore Public Schools to Close: Safety Measures Taken

Due to a bomb threat made to Baker Hughes, a drilling company located near one of Claremore Public Schools’ campuses, the district has decided to close all schools for May 7. The threat was not related to the school but was made at Baker Hughes’ facility across the street from Will Rogers Junior High, Claremore High School, and Roosa Elementary.

A representative from Baker Hughes stated that they received the threat and immediately notified law enforcement. Employees were sent home as a precaution, and authorities are currently working to resolve the situation. The safety of employees and the community is their top priority.

As a result of this threat, Claremore Public Schools have canceled classes at all sites for May 7. While there was no connection between the school and the threat, school leaders made this decision out of an abundance of caution. School buses will still run to pick up children at their stops, but they will be taken to the Claremore Enrollment Center for pickup by parents with identification instead of going directly to school.

In a statement released to Zebra families, school leaders emphasized that safety is their greatest priority and that local law enforcement is being supported in protecting students and staff during this difficult situation. They thanked law enforcement for their hard work and appreciated their efforts in ensuring everyone’s safety during this time.
