The El Rio Grande Latin Market in Dallas recently made headlines for setting a Guinness World Record for the largest fruit display. This achievement was reached by gathering nearly 87,000 pounds of avocados. The market’s display weighed in at a whopping 86,764 pounds and consisted of 301,000 avocados.

The record-breaking display was set up to celebrate the Mexican-American cultural holiday Cinco de Mayo, which takes place on May 5th every year. The market teased the news leading up to the announcement and shared a time-lapse video of the workers setting up the impressive display at their location on Buckner Blvd. in Dallas. It took 7 hours for the team to complete the setup.

The El Rio Grande Latin Market gave credit to their incredible display build team for their hard work in creating the record-breaking masterpiece. A photo of the team was shared on Facebook along with a message of gratitude for their efforts. Once the record was officially set, the market proudly displayed their framed certificate from Guinness in the center of the avocado pile to celebrate their achievement.
