Austria’s ÖBAG Appoints New Board Member and Extends Contracts for Key Executives

Herlitschka, CEO of Infineon, to become a member of ÖBAG’s supervisory board

Austria’s state holding company, ÖBAG, has announced the appointment of Sabine Herlitschka as a new member of its Supervisory Board. The general meeting representing the Republic as the 100 percent owner of ÖBAG made this decision. According to industry sources reported by Kronen Newspaper, Herlitschka will bring her expertise and experience to the board.

The Vienna Airport Board Member, Günther Ofner, remains as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. It is worth noting that Ofner’s contract has been extended for another three years until September 30, 2028. Julian Jaeger, another Board member of Flughafen Wien AG, also had his contract extended for another five years until September 30, 2030. Both Ofner and Jäger have been leading Flughafen Wien AG since 2011 and are known for their close ties with public transport and political parties respectively.

Österreichische Beteiligungen AG (ÖBAG) manages Austria’s investments in various listed companies such as OMV, Post Telekom and Casinos Austria. The company was established in 2019 following a restructuring of Austrian Federal and Industrial Participations GmbH (ÖBIB), which was formed from Austrian Industrial Holding Aktiengesellschaft (ÖIAG) in 2015. ÖBAG plays a crucial role in overseeing the Republic’s interests in these key businesses.
