Australia’s Pat Cummins Sets Sights on History with Upcoming T20 World Cup Match against India

Cricket News: Pat Cummins eyes hat-trick against India in T20 World Cup

Australia’s Pat Cummins will have the chance to make history in the upcoming T20 World Cup match against India on Monday. Cummins has already taken back-to-back hat-tricks in the tournament, making him the only bowler with such a record in T20 World Cup history. If he manages to take another hat-trick in this match, he will become the first bowler ever to achieve three hat-tricks in international cricket.

Cummins, who captains Australia in ODIs and Tests, has already led his team to victories in the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup, defeating India in the finals. In the ‘Super 8s’ stage, Cummins dismissed Rashid Khan on the last ball of his third over in the match against Afghanistan and went on to take two more wickets in three balls in his final over. Despite his impressive performance, Australia suffered a surprising defeat against Afghanistan.

In fact, Cummins had also taken a hat-trick in Australia’s previous match against Bangladesh in the ‘Super 8s’ stage. In that match, he dismissed three consecutive batters in the last over of his spell, becoming only the second Australian bowler to take a hat-trick in a T20 World Cup match. Brett Lee was the first Australian to achieve this feat in the inaugural 2007 edition of the tournament against Bangladesh.
