Austin Recognized as One of the Best Places to Live in U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-2025 Rankings

Austin has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best Places to Live in the nation for 2024-2025, ranking at No. 9. The mayor of Austin, Kirk Watson, expressed gratitude for this honor, stating that it confirms what residents of Austin already know – that the city is a unique and special place. With its access to nature, diverse economy, and lively music scene, Austin is a vibrant city for people to live, work, and play in.

According to Erika Giovanetti from U.S. News & World Report, people often consider various factors when deciding where to live, and the rankings help identify cities that are likely to meet those expectations. The list of Best Places to Live evaluated 150 cities across the U.S. based on criteria such as value, job market, desirability, and quality of life.
