The Austin Area High School Sports Awards, presented by Thomas J. Henry Law, has announced the nominees for the Boys and Girls Basketball Players of the Year. The winners will be revealed during a live show at The Long Center: Dell Hall in Austin on June 12. This program is part of a nine-month student-athlete recognition program that will culminate in a red-carpet show this spring. It will celebrate athletes, coaches, and teams from the Austin region participating in sanctioned Texas High School sports.
The nominees for Boys Basketball Player of the Year include Uzziah Buntyn, Aiden Disu, Mark Fletcher, Hudson Greer, Cameron Jackson, Sam McKinney, JoJo Moore, Josiah Moseley, Bo Ogden, Gavin Paull, Jayden Thomas, and Jason Ward. For Girls Basketball Player of the Year, nominees are Janiyah Alvarez, Gianna Angiolet, Kennedy Carlyle, Amy Chen
