Despite being unable to play until the MLS transfer window opens on July 18, Austin FC has announced a new designated player addition to its roster. Left-side winger Osman Bukari will be joining the team from Red Star Belgrade in Serbia. Bukari, who also plays for the Ghanaian national team, has an impressive track record with 25 goals and 20 assists over the past two seasons for Red Star Belgrade. He is set to fill the designated player spot left open by Emiliano Rigoni.

Bukari has played in top leagues in Slovakia, Belgium, and France before his time at Red Star Belgrade, where he also competed in the UEFA Champions League. His contract with Austin FC extends through 2027 with a club option for 2028.

This exciting addition is sure to bolster the team as they continue to strive for success in the MLS. Fans can look forward to seeing him in action on July 20 at Q2 Stadium when Austin FC takes on Charlotte.
