Armon Harried’s Impressive Career: From Double-Digit Rebounds to Scholar-Athlete Honors

Harriet Chosen as SUNY Winter Sports Scholar-Athlete

Armon Harried, a men’s basketball forward who just completed his collegiate career, received the SUNY Scholar-Athlete honor. The announcement was made by the higher education system on April 19th. This recognition is yet another addition to his impressive portfolio of achievements.

In addition to this honor, Harried was also named to the America East All-Defensive Team this season. Throughout his career, he scored 1,296 points and grabbed 623 rebounds, with his final two seasons being played at Binghamton University. In conference play, he averaged 13.4 points and 6.8 rebounds, ranking ninth in AE while playing 37 minutes per game and fourth in AE. In the last three regular season games, he averaged 17.7 points and 7.7 boards, helping the Bearcats secure three wins and a fourth-place tie in the standings. He had two double-doubles and was the team’s second-leading scorer and rebounder.

Aside from his athletic achievements, Harried also earned a spot on the America East All-Academic Team. He is currently a graduate student studying human rights, following his undergraduate degree in human development where he maintained a 3.82 overall GPA. The SUNY Scholar Athlete Awards recognize student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically in 29 different sports with awards presented three times a year to coincide with the fall, winter, and spring seasons.

The Fall Scholar Athlete Awards were announced in January while the Spring Scholar Athlete Awards will be presented in June.

Recipients will receive photo plaques to commemorate their achievements.

Harried is the first multi-year recipient of the All-Defensive Team award for Binghamton in sixteen years.

This accomplishment adds to Harried’s already impressive portfolio of academic and athletic achievements as he prepares to move forward with his future endeavors after graduation from Binghamton University.
