Armenia and NATO: Building Bridges towards Peace and Prosperity in the South Caucasus

Presentation on the South Caucasus at NATO Headquarters by Vahan Kostanyan

During a recent presentation at the headquarters of NATO in Brussels, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan discussed the importance of strengthening relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He emphasized the need for continued cooperation to address security challenges in the South Caucasus region.

The discussion also touched upon Armenia’s relationship with Turkey, a member of the alliance. Deputy Minister Kostanyan highlighted the significance of Armenia’s accession to the “Partnership for Peace” program of the North Atlantic Alliance over thirty years ago, which laid the foundation for further cooperation between Armenia and NATO.

Deputy Minister Kostanyan emphasized the importance of continuing to enhance cooperation with NATO and its member states to increase Armenia’s defense and security capabilities. The meeting also included discussions on international security issues of mutual interest, highlighting the importance of collaboration in addressing common security challenges.

Kostanyan reiterated Armenia’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with NATO and its member states in pursuit of shared goals. He expressed his hope that these efforts would lead to greater stability and prosperity for all countries in the region.
