Armed Suspect Arrested on Charges of Injury to Property and Possession of a Firearm in Halifax County

Man arrested for trespassing with weapon on business property

A man from Roanoke Rapids was charged with multiple counts, including injury to personal property, after firing a weapon and hitting a vehicle. The incident occurred at a business on Highway 903 outside Halifax, leading to a report to the authorities about a man with a firearm on the premises.

Due to the pending charges against him, Grant is being held at the Halifax County Detention Center without an opportunity for bond and is scheduled to appear in district court on Tuesday. The man, identified as Korey Ramon Grant Jr., 33, was located at a nearby residence by Deputy K. Tillery with the help of Corporal G. Martin and his dog Loki.

Grant was arrested and charged with several offenses, including going armed to the terror of the public, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges against him stemmed from an incident that took place at the business on Highway 903 outside Halifax. According to witnesses, Grant fired his weapon and struck another vehicle before fleeing the scene.
