On Saturday, an individual armed with a crossbow was fatally shot by the Serbian Police in front of the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade, injuring an officer before being killed. The incident occurred around 11:00 in the morning.

The attacker was later identified as Milos Zujovic, a 25-year-old “Muslim convert” also known as ‘Saladin’, who hails from Novi Pazar. Preliminary indications suggest that Zujovic may be linked to the ultra-conservative Wahhabi movement, according to Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic.

The injured officer underwent surgery after being seriously wounded by an arrow to the neck. The Israeli Foreign Ministry echoed Dacic’s classification of the incident as a “terrorist attack”. The Israeli Embassy closed to the public, with no staff members injured in the attack.

Following the incident, an autopsy will be conducted on the attacker to provide more detailed information about his identity. The injured officer is currently in intensive care at the University Hospital of Serbia for further treatment.
