Messi and Martinez each net two goals as Argentina secures victory

In the final warm-up match for the Copa America in Maryland, Argentina’s Lionel Messi and Lautaro Martinez both scored twice, helping the trophy favorites defeat Guatemala 4-1. Messi equalized an early lead for Guatemala with a stunning goal from an empty net after a goalkeeper clearance mistake. Lautaro Martinez then put Argentina ahead with a penalty in the 39th minute, adding another goal from a Messi pass after the break.

The Copa America tournament will take place in the United States from June 20th to July 14th, with Argentina facing Canada in their opening match. They will also play against Chile and Peru in the group stage. After scoring his second goal of the game in the 77th minute, Messi emphasized his team’s commitment to doing their best and continuing to pursue titles. He acknowledged that there are challenges ahead but expressed their determination to try again.
