Apple is making strides to improve the longevity of their devices by increasing the energy density of the battery cells used in the iPhone 16 Pro Max. In addition, the company is also changing the material used to protect the battery from plastic to stainless steel. These changes are part of Apple’s efforts to make their devices more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

In addition to these improvements, Apple has introduced a diagnostic tool in Spain and other European countries that can test features such as Face ID, audio output, and the camera to ensure optimal performance. This tool will help customers identify any issues with their device and address them before they become major problems.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is also working on hardware enhancements for the next generation of iPhones, including the iPhone 16 Pro Max. One major change will be an increase in energy density of the battery cells, resulting in better battery life. To prevent overheating, Apple will use a stainless steel casing for the first time, providing better protection for the battery and the device as a whole.

Kuo notes that these changes align with a future European Union law requiring smartphones to have replaceable batteries by 2027. The use of stainless steel in the battery casing will make it easier to replace the battery, helping Apple meet regulatory requirements while also improving customer satisfaction and reducing electronic waste.
