Apple Drops Support for iPhone X, First-Generation AirPods, and HomePod: The List of ‘Vintage’ Products No Longer Receives Official Support

Apple now categorizes the iPhone X and first-generation AirPods as ‘vintage’ products

Apple recently updated its list of ‘vintage’ and obsolete products, which now includes the iPhone X, the first generation of AirPods, and the first HomePod. These products are no longer sold and will soon no longer receive official support from Apple.

According to a report by MacRumors, Apple’s list of ‘vintage’ and obsolete products includes items that have been discontinued for more than five years but less than seven years. This means that while these products are still eligible for technical support at Apple stores, they will only receive support for another two years before being completely abandoned by the company.

The iPhone X, released in 2017, was a significant product in Apple’s history as it marked the tenth anniversary of the flagship phone. It introduced new features such as the Face ID facial recognition system and the removal of the Home button. The AirPods and HomePod, released in 2016, were also popular products that have now reached the end of their official Apple support.

In today’s fast-paced world of technology gadgets and smartphones quickly become outdated as new innovations are introduced. Despite their once-revolutionary features, it is clear that time has moved on for these devices. The fact that they are now considered ‘vintage’ by Apple signifies their age in an ever-changing tech industry where obsolescence happens quickly.
