Anthropic, an artificial intelligence startup based in San Francisco, has announced the launch of a new chatbot technology targeted at businesses. The company, which is backed by Alphabet and Amazon.com, is entering the competition for corporate clients with its latest AI models called Claude 3.
Claude 3 surpasses those from rivals like Microsoft-backed OpenAI and Google, claims Anthropic. Now, Anthropic has introduced an app for Apple’s iPhones that will provide Claude 3 to businesses for $30 per user per month with a minimum of 5 users.
Anthropic’s entry into the enterprise technology market puts it in direct competition with OpenAI, which also offers a business plan at the same rate. However, tensions within the AI sector are already emerging, with reports revealing OpenAI’s Chief Executive directly pitching the company’s business offering to Microsoft’s key clients.
One of the standout features of Claude 3 is its ability to process large amounts of data – the equivalent of two books – and summarize, analyze, or extract a single piece of data accurately. Anthropic stated that this technology can aid finance teams in creating investment reports, assist engineering teams working on extensive code databases, or support sales teams in securing major clients. According to Daniela Amodei, Anthropic’s president, Claude excels at handling both structured and unstructured data, making it versatile in summarizing various types of information for users.
