Jeff Bezos has once again claimed the title of the world’s richest person, surpassing luxury tycoon Bernard Arnault. According to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, Bezos now holds the top spot among the world’s 500 richest billionaires with a net worth of $209 billion.
Bezos’ wealth has surged by $32 billion since the beginning of the year, as Amazon’s stock has seen a significant increase of nearly 25%. His holdings include around 9% of Amazon and the space exploration company Blue Origin. Meanwhile, Arnault, the CEO and chairman of LVMH Moët Hennessy, possesses a net worth of $208 billion, placing him just behind Bezos.
Elon Musk follows closely behind Bezos and Arnault with a net worth of $200 billion. The top five richest people in the world are rounded out by Mark Zuckerberg and Larry Page. Bezos has intermittently held the title of the world’s richest person, at times surpassing Musk, who previously held the top spot.
One noteworthy mover on this year’s list is Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who has climbed to the 14th spot with a $107 billion fortune, largely due to Nvidia’s soaring stock. Huang has seen a significant increase in his net worth in a short period of time.
