Amagi and VIZIO Partner to Personalize Ad Pod Lengths in the Age of FAST TV: The Success Story of Zero Slate

Recently, Amagi announced the successful launch of its Zero Slate technology on VIZIO’s WatchFree+ channels. This new technology is part of the Stream Personalization initiative and enhances the streaming experience by adjusting ad break length on a per-viewer basis, eliminating the need for slates or filler content during linear ad breaks.

Amagi ANALYTICS has shown that taking a “viewer-first” approach with this innovative technology has already led to an increase in viewership on VIZIO’s channels, with a more than 20% lift in engagement. The success of Zero Slate in personalizing ad pod length highlights the potential to boost viewer engagement and provide high-quality viewing experiences over time. This capability is just the beginning of Amagi’s broader Stream Personalization initiative, which aims to offer even more engaging linear viewing experiences in the future.

Traditional slates used in ad pods can increase viewer churn by up to 15% in today’s Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST) ecosystem. By eliminating these slates, Zero Slate provides viewers with a more seamless and personalized viewing experience, leading to increased engagement and retention.

VIZIO’s Group Vice President of Platform Content and Partnerships, Katherine Pond, expressed her satisfaction with the partnership with Amagi and the introduction of Zero Slate technology on their channels. She emphasized VIZIO’s commitment to enhancing user experiences and delivering personalized content through this collaboration. Meanwhile, Amagi’s Co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer, Srinivasan KA, expressed gratitude for the partnership with VIZIO and excitement about the potential of Stream Personalization to transform the linear viewing experience.

Overall, this new technology sets the stage for a more engaging and profitable future in the entertainment industry by providing viewers with personalized ad pod lengths that are tailored to their preferences while also increasing viewership on VIZIO’s channels.
