Alabama’s Karly Weathers Recognized for Academic Excellence in Women’s Basketball

Karly Weathers Recognized as Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators.

Karly Weathers of Alabama has been recognized as a member of the Women’s Basketball Academic All-District Team. This is her first time receiving this honor, and she is a sophomore with a 4.0 GPA pursuing a degree in nursing.

Throughout the season, Weathers played a crucial role on the court for Alabama. She appeared in 34 games and started four of them. Her standout performance came during a victory over Arkansas on February 1st when she achieved her first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. In the NCAA Tournament win against Florida State on March 22nd, she scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds, and recorded five steals.

Weathers finished the season as the team’s fourth-leading rebounder with 132 rebounds, averaging 3.9 rebounds per game. Her contributions helped Alabama secure a double-bye in the Southeastern Conference Tournament by defeating Texas A&M. Additionally, her leadership helped lead the team to back-to-back 20-win seasons since joining as a freshman.
