Aidan O’Brien’s City Of Troy Vies for Fourth Derby Win Amidst Strong Competition

Troy City leads O’Brien’s Epsom Derby campaign

Ryan Moore, Troy’s City Jockey, Aims for Fourth Derby Victory

Ryan Moore is ready to take home his fourth Betfred Derby victory this Saturday with the Aidan O’Brien-trained City Of Troy. With 20 horses still in the running, Tabletalk has been added to the field at Monday’s confirmation stage. Despite a disappointing performance in the 2,000 Guineas, City Of Troy remains among six O’Brien-trained horses competing for the Epsom race. Potential contenders include Los Angeles, Diego Velazquez, Euphoric, Illinois and Portland. Irish contender Dallas Star also has a strong chance of winning after winning the Ballysax Stakes under Adrian Murray.

Tabletalk won its last outing at Chelmsford and was supplemented for the race at £75,000. Ambiente Friendly and Ancient Wisdom are solid British challengers from Lingfield and Charlie Appleby respectively. Bellum Justum from King Power Racing is another horse with confident owners who believe it can perform well despite uncertainties in form lines. Other potential contenders include Macduff from Ralph Beckett and Dancing Gemini trained by Roger Teal. Deira Mile, God’s Window, Kamboo, Mr Hampstead, Padesha and Sayedaty Sadaty are also expected to compete strongly in this year’s exciting Derby race where underdogs have a chance to shine due to uncertainties surrounding form lines.
