Aggies Secure Valuable Kicker Addition in 2025 Recruiting Cycle

K Colton Chmelar has committed to Texas A&M for 2025

Texas A&M has secured a strong kicker for their 2025 recruiting class, addressing a position of need following a season with multiple missed kicks. Led by five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet and four-star tight end Kiotti Armstrong, the Aggies have 14 commitments in the 2025 cycle under new head coach Mike Elko.

The importance of the kicker position cannot be overstated, as starting kicker Randy Bond is the only viable option heading into the 2024 season. Bond struggled with long-range kicks during the previous season, making accuracy and reliability crucial for close games. To fill this gap, Colton Chmelar, a local product from A&M Consolidated, has been recruited. Standing at 6’2″ and 190 pounds, Chmelar is known for his strong leg and routinely hits from 50 yards out.

Chmelar is not just a kicker but also a standout wide receiver and soccer player. His kicking abilities make him a valuable addition to the team. Fans can follow ongoing coverage of Texas A&M news and updates on social media, including Twitter and Facebook.
