Elena Zhukova, a 67-year-old retired molecular biologist, recently became the fifth wife of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who is 93 years old. The couple exchanged their vows at Murdoch’s Californian vineyard in Bel-Air. The Sun, a British tabloid owned by Murdoch, published pictures of the newlyweds after the wedding.
Murdoch has been at the helm of Fox Corporation and News Corp for decades and owns outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, and Fox News. After announcing his plan to step down as chairman of both companies in November 2023, Murdoch relinquished his position to his son Lachlan. He has a net worth of $9.77 billion, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index.
Murdoch and Zhukova began dating last summer and got engaged in March. Prior to this marriage, Murdoch was previously married to former supermodel Jerry Hall from whom he divorced in 2022. He also proposed to Ann Lesley Smith in March 2023 but the engagement was called off two weeks later. Despite stepping down as chairman, Murdoch remains active in News Corp and serves as the chairman emeritus for both companies.
